STORY OF JEN has been added to the main competition at the
61st Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland!
The world premiere of
the film - the story of a 16-year-old girl, her widowed mother and the
mother's new boyfriend - will push the total number of productions
challenging for Locarno's prestigious Golden Leopard prize to 18 movies.
The movie is the second
feature-length film from director Francois Rotger, whose first feature,
"The Passenger," premiered in Locarno in 2005. "Story of Jen" has been
added to the Locarno schedule for August 14 2008.
Synopsis:
Jen just turned 16 and
lives with her mother, Sarah. When Ian comes into Jen’s life, his
appearance, his voice, everything about him reminds Jen of her lost
father. At first, Jen loves him with the love of a child. But the nature
of her love changes; it becomes something precious, something she wants
to share, that she wants to give, one day. But Ian will steal it from
her, then run away - as a pitiless manhunt ensues.

Francisco-based apparel and art company Upper
Playground, photographer/director Estevan Oriol
and tattoo artist Mister Cartoon are celebrating
a series of four one-of-a-kind retail
establishments in the Skid Row area of downtown
Los Angeles. Each storefront will offer
customers a unique fashion and fine art
experience.
In celebration of
the new properties, the three entities will host
an open house on Saturday, May 31st, 2008 that
will feature a special art exhibit and
appearances from some of the world's leading
designers involved in the project.
Mr.Ward will be
attending and presenting a huge new painting
that will be available for purchase and will
also be doing on-spot hand made clothing for
this Grand Opening!

NEW MOVIE PROJECT
ON THE GO!
One Lucky - Son
of a Bitch is the working title of a new
movie featuring Mr.Ward, currently in pre-production
in L.A. Producer Daniel Louis Rivas gave
us some insides on the independent dark comedy:
Screenplay and directing by Award-wining Latina
Betty Kaplan (best known for her adaptation of
Isabell Allende´s Love and Shadows with
Antonio Banderas).
The Cast of "One
Lucky
S.O.B" will feature
Daniel Louis Rivas and his sister Sara Rivas,
Simon Rex, Haylie Duff and Tony Ward, who also
is co-producing.
Synopsis:
Set
in Seattle and Los Angeles. the film is about a young
guy who writes poetry and suffers a series of
mishaps, among them, losing his siter in an
overdose, slitting his wrists and while in a
rehab, being robbed of one of his poems by a
Rock singer in the next bed.
His poem is used
in a big show and then in a video that brings
the cops back to his doorstep. Then, he is hit
by a bus.
Our protagomist is
pursued by his dead sister as he ends up beating
the system, cleaning up and finally burying her.
Each mishap opens one more lucky door.
Luck can come in
many flavors and even turn unlucky mishaps into
lucky ones.
