go back in time to the 1970s! This is a rare
family portrait from Tonys childhood with
his brothers (Tony is on the left). Courtesy
of Mr. Ward's private archive. Further proof
that the cute little rebel boy, became the
hot iconic ground-breaker.

ARTE, the European
public-service cultural television channel, will be
airing the gay classic movie HUSTLER WHITE [1996]
this month. The Movie started out as a small documentary
by Rick Castro, but together with Bruce LaBruce and Tony
Ward it evolved into a feature film.
The starring role was
based on, and originally cast with an actual hustler
called Monti ( Montgomery Ward ) who turned out to be a
no-show for pre-production. So Rick Castro asked his
long-time friend Tony Ward to help out, Tony read
the script and immediately accepted the role of Monti.
The film originally
premiered at the Sundance Film Festival of 1996, and
has gone on to screen at film festivals, museums and
art institutes worldwide, followed by an
international theatrical, then video & DVD
release.
Upon the films
theatrical release in 1996, French minister of
culture Jack Lang declared HUSTLER WHITE
a work of art, and NY Times writer Manohla Dargis
listed HUSTLER WHITE
in her 100 all time greatest cult films ever made.
Pop- star Boy George called it "cheap, disgusting
porn", and actor/ director Kevin Costner walked out
15 minutes into the film after paying full price
at Laemmele Theaters in West Hollywood, CA.
13 years later -
HUSTLER WHITE has a loyal and ever-growing fan
base.

legendary couturier The House of CHANEL
(invented by Coco Chanel) Mr.Ward starring
in the print campaign for the 1998 release
of their most famous men fragrance EGOISTE
update Platinum (wich was the first ever man
eau de toilette pour homme by a fashion
designer). The image was shot by noone other
than Herb Ritts in his own Hollywood
mansion, 10 years before it became a CHANEL
ad! Later in 1998 CHANEL re-discovert this
amazing classic.

"Before I even
arrived in L.A. there were pictures of my naked
ass on guysīrefrigerator doors all across the
country."
Tony Ward, one of
the most prolific and recognisable male models
of, well, ever, is standing outside the lobby of
the Culver Hotel in Los Angeles, talking about
being pigeonhold. Over his career, Tony has been
the subject of some iconic male erotic
imagery, shot by the haute vanguard of fashion
photographers, from Herb ritts to Steven Meisel,
Greg Gorman to Jack Pierson. "So thatīs who
people expect me to be," Tony says. "I meet
people and they go, "He Tony, are you gay, Tony?
Are you straight, Tony?" And I say, " Hey, Iīm
Tony, nice to meet you." I donīt define myself ,
I donīt de-fine myself at all. I do what the
fuck I want when I want and it upsets people
some of the time!" He pauses before adding, "A
lot of the time." For a guy who carries so many
titles - model, gay icon, photographer, painter,
actor, producer, director, husband, father - he
certainly dislikes labels. For a guy who, for
more tham 25 years, and most notably in the
early ī90s when he was dating Madonna, had his
personal parts on public display, he surely
doesnīt like to be, ahem, tied down. "I donīt
give a fuck about that. The nudity, the
sexuality out there, look, itīs like an
appendage, itīs like a finger. I donīt see how
people can stomach the torture of prisoners or
the slaughter of innocent people all over the
world and even raise an eyebrow over some sex."

NEW DIESEL
FRAGRANCE PRESENTATION!
Last week
DIESEL hold an exclusive event for their
perfume Only The Brave, the first
solo mens fragrance of the brand. This
edition was inspired by founder of Diesel,
Renzo Rosso. The new perfume will hit the
market end of March.
The
advertising photos as well as the upcoming
commercial feature Tony Ward. Photographer
of the campaign is British PLATON. The
commercial clip will be shot end of February
in New York.
For the
press presentation in Berlin Mr.Ward was
flown in from L.A. Here are some snapshots
of the evening and from the red carpet,
